Vietnamese Grilled Pork Chops

minutesExperience the tantalizing flavors of Vietnam with these succulent grilled pork chops, marinated in a fragrant blend of fish sauce, garlic, and lemongrass, and served with a zesty dipping sauce and aromatic rice.
Ingredients
2 lbs or 4 bone in pork chops
- Marinade
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons lemongrass paste
1/3 cup fish sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Directions
- Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl. Pour marinade into large bag and add pork chops.
- Marinade pork chops minimum of 4 hours but for best flavour marinade overnight, flipping bag over in the morning.
- Heat your grill or bbq to medium heat. Grease lightly.
- Remove chops from marinade and cook pork chops for 8 – 10 minutes each side, depending on thickness of chops. Brush with marinade as cooking.
- Let chops rest for 5 minutes and serve with jasmine rice, fresh tomatoes and cucumber and if you like, a fried egg on the rice. Vietnamese dipping sauce adds the final touch.
